Anavar Side-Effects

Oxandrolone is a popular anabolic androgenic steroid commonly known by its most popular trade name Anavar. As is with all anabolic steroids, there are Anavar side-effects associated with use, but in the case of the Oxandrolone hormone, there is some very good news. Anavar side-effects are remarkably mild, and in most cases can be entirely avoided with responsible use. The hormonal compound is so side-effect friendly that even with high doses most healthy adult men will never have the first problem. Of course, a “high dose” is a relative term, as it can vary depending on who you talk to. Regardless, doses upwards of 80mg-100mg per day can be well-tolerated, and almost anyone would call 100mg a high dose.

Of course, as you may be aware of, the Oxandrolone hormone is also extremely well-tolerated by females, so much so it is in the eyes of many the ultimate female anabolic steroid. This makes Anavar a little special, as the vast majority of anabolic steroids cannot be used by women. Nevertheless, again, because it is so side-effect friendly, coupled with it being so effective in women, there are few anabolic steroids that are as indispensable to women as Oxandrolone. Even so, Anavar side-effects will be of a bit more of a concern with female users than males, simply because they are more sensitive to hormone. However, with responsible use the vast majority will be more than fine.

Primary Anavar Side-Effects

The Oxandrolone hormone is a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) derived anabolic steroid, and like all DHT based steroids acne and hair-loss can be an issue. These particular Anavar side-effects will largely be based on genetic predisposition, and, unfortunately, there’s not a lot we can do about them if you are sensitive. For example, as it pertains to hair-loss, if you are predisposed to male-pattern baldness there’s a chance Anavar will cause you to lose some hair. You were going to lose the hair anyway, but the Oxandrolone simply sped it up. If you are predisposed to male-pattern baldness, you could try supplementing with Finasteride (Proscar, Propecia, etc), but this can create some negative hormonal imbalances if you’re not careful, so supplement with caution.

As it pertains to Acne, again this will be largely genetically driven. Those who are sensitive to acne will be the first to have a problem, and in most cases, breakouts will occur on the back and or shoulders. Those who are not sensitive will normally not have the first problem. In-order to combat Anavar side-effects of this nature the best thing you can do is to keep your skin clean. Take an extra shower if need be, always change your shirt after it becomes sweaty, wash your bed sheets regularly and perhaps a little more often than you normally would.

Impossible Anavar Side-Effects

Because anabolic steroids are often portrayed in a negative light, it’s not uncommon for side-effects to be blown way out or proportion. If you survey the many anabolic steroid profiles online, if you come across one of a strong biased nature you’ll often find they attach all possible steroidal side-effects to each and every anabolic steroid. Why not, after all, it makes each steroid sound much worse. However, if you’re an even minded individual you simply want the truth, regardless of what it may be. The point, there are no Anavar side-effects of an estrogenic nature. The hormone does not aromatize, and therefore, estrogenic related issues are impossible. Side-Effects such as Gynecomastia and excess water retention cannot occur.

Testosterone Suppression

It is an exceedingly common misconception by many performance enhancers that Oxandrolone will not suppress your natural testosterone production. How this myth began is unclear, perhaps it is because it’s such a mild steroid, but rest assured it is an outright lie. However, it is true, Anavar will not suppress testosterone production to the degree of many other anabolic steroids such as Nandrolone or Trenbolone; but some suppression will occur. For this reason, men are encouraged to supplement with exogenous testosterone when Oxandrolone is in play.

Due to testosterone suppression, one of the Anavar side-effects that will occur will be testicular atrophy. This is absolutely unavoidable, even with the use of exogenous testosterone your testicles will shrink. This doesn’t mean they shrivel up and disappear, it simply means they lose some of their fullness. Once use has been discontinued, and all anabolic steroidal hormones have cleared your system natural testosterone production will begin again, and your testicles will return to their normal size.

Female Anavar Side-Effects

Female Anavar side-effects are referred to as “Female” because they can only occur in women; we’re referring to the issue of virilization. Such effects can be devastating to a woman as they can truly damage her delicate femininity. Such effects include:

Deepening of the Vocal Chords

Body Hair Growth

Clitoral Enlargement

Menstrual Cycle Disruption

Male-Pattern Baldness

Fortunately, while these are possible Anavar side-effects, most women will never need to concern themselves. In most cases, the average women will supplement with 10mg every other day to 10mg every day, with some going as high as 20mg per day. First and foremost, very few women will ever need more than 10mg per day, and in almost all cases those who stay at this dose will never have a problem. As for a 20mg per day dose, understand, if a woman goes above this amount virilization at some level is almost assured. Regardless of where your dose falls, and again, most never need to go above 10mg per day, if virilization symptoms begin to show you are encouraged to discontinue Anavar use. If you do so the symptoms will fade away quickly; if you ignore them, they very well may become permanent.
