A 32-year-old Burlington man is facing drug charges following what police believe to be the largest street seizure of anabolic steroids in the region’s history.

More than 10,300 pills, with an estimated street value of more than $60,000, were seized from a vehicle during a routine traffic stop last night, Waterloo regional police said.

The incident happened at about 10:49 p.m. when an officer stopped a vehicle in the north end of Waterloo, police said.

The officer discovered a passenger had with him a large box filled with the pills as well as some Canadian cash.

He was arrested and charged with a number of offences including trafficking a controlled substance.
