Oxymetholone

Oxymetholone is one of the most powerfully potent steroids at our disposal and one of the greatest size increasing steroids ever compounded. Well-suited for bulking cycles, as is its primary function by its very nature Oxymetholone will also greatly increase strength but further can serve a role in a cutting cycle in certain instances.

As a powerful 17-aa oral anabolic steroid Oxymetholone is commonly known as Anadrol due to its original trade name and often referred to as “Droll” or “A-Bombs” among gym rats the world over. Further it is also commonly associated with another steroid one of the most famous of all, Methandrostenolone; you know it as Dianabol or “Dbol.” However, the comparison, while there are strong similarities is often a little inaccurate as we’ll see. There’s a lot of good information regarding the steroid out there but for every piece of quality accurate info more inaccurate and often idiotic thought exists. Oxymetholone is largely one of the most misunderstood anabolic steroids ever created; while most understand its primary role, associations are often misguided and it’s time to set the record straight. Much of this vast misinformation exists based on the plethora of self-created experts that plague gyms and internet message boards and because so many are so desperate to learn they absorb the misinformation and pass it along themselves. We have taken some of the most common misconceptions off of some of the most popular message boards that deal in the discussion of anabolic steroids and Oxymetholone and left you with the truth. While you’ll find there will still be much more to learn hopefully here you’ll find a good starting point and erase some of the incorrect information you have in your mind.

Myth: Oxymetholone (Anadrol) is more powerful than Methandrostenolone (Dianabol.)
Truth: On a milligram for milligram basis Methandrostenolone is far more powerful than Oxymetholone. However, most do not convert the doses evenly to make an accurate assumption; for example, common Methandrostenolone doses range from 30mg-50mg per day while common Oxymetholone doses often reach 100mg per day. Most who run a cycle with one and then another cycle with the other, dosing both at equal levels will find Dianabol to be a more powerful steroid. However, as the opposite thinking is so engrained in many no amount of proof or truth will convince them.

Myth: Oxymetholone cannot be used in a cutting cycle because you’ll hold a ton of water.
Truth: It is true, Oxymetholone can cause massive water retention, more so than most any other steroid; however, it can be controlled when the individual understands how to use an aromatase inhibitor (AI) and how to diet. Many competitive bodybuilders use Oxymetholone at the end of a contest cycle in order to fill out as it can be very promising when conjoined with the carbohydrates during the loading process. However, failure to use responsibly, taking in too many carbs, not using an AI and you will end up watery, this is true. Further, many will use the steroid early in a cutting cycle to maintain strength and size while in a caloric deficit; however, again, AI use and responsible diet are a must.

Myth: All gains from Oxymetholone use will be lost once use is discontinued.
Truth: Not only is this a myth it is downright idiotic yet it remains one of the most prevalent thoughts surrounding the steroid by many. It is true, Oxymetholone use alone will not produce a lot of gains that are easy to hold onto; however, you shouldn’t be using Oxymetholone alone to begin with; testosterone should be your foundation, as it should be with most anabolic steroid cycles. To begin, your cycle should far extend Oxymetholone use; while a common time frame for Oxymetholone is 4-6 weeks most solid anabolic steroid cycles will extend at minimum 12 weeks in total duration. Moreover, food intake is of the utmost importance; as this steroid will increase appetite in many it is important to keep that calorie flow coming in after use is discontinued. It is true, in a bulking cycle much of the weight gain from this steroid will be water weight and it will dissipate once use is discontinued but that wasn’t a real gain to begin with. If you gain 20lbs with use, 15lbs of it is water and lose 15lbs of water after use is done you did not lose all your gains; you simply lost 15lbs of water weight. Unfortunately most cannot distinguish between true gains and water weight; it takes a well-trained eye most of the time.
