Legitimate Medical Use

Anavar is used medically to aid individuals who have lost weight due to surgery, trauma or infection. Those experiencing osteoporosis also are prescribed the drug to stop bone pain. Doctors sometimes use the medication to treat breast cancer and hereditary angioedema.

Side Effects

Using anavar can lead to such side effects as the development of male characteristics (masculinization) in women including the deepening of the voice and facial hair growth.

In addition, users can experience nausea, vomiting, trouble sleeping, changes in skin color, and changes in sexual interest.

Warning signs requiring medical attention

yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine, unusual tiredness, or sudden/persistent stomach/abdominal pain, swelling ankles/feet, unusual tiredness, breast tenderness/swelling in men, easy bruising/bleeding, severe muscle spasms, mental/mood changes, seizures
