Letrozole

For the majority of performance enhancing athletes when choosing an aromatase inhibitor there are typically three common choices; Arimidex, Aromasin and Letrozole and each is very similar in action. The purpose of an aromatase inhibitor largely lies within the name itself; to inhibit the aromatase enzyme. For the steroid user this is of great importance as many anabolic androgenic steroids will aromatize thereby converting to estrogen through this process. The conversion and buildup of estrogen can lead to many unwanted side-effects; in-fact, some of the most common adverse side-effects of steroid use are due to this effect. While some estrogen is imperative to overall and general health, as well as muscle growth too much can be very damaging to a physique, leaving it soft and bloated and that is for most who supplement with anabolic steroids completely unacceptable.

As it pertains to Letrozole it is a fine aromatase inhibitor; in-fact it’s one of the very best. Unfortunately many do not understand it; many lack the understanding on how best to use it, how to dose it, when to use it and in general its overall functions. In truth, aromatase inhibitors like Letrozole are not all that hard to understand but lack of education is simply just that, a lack of understanding. Furthermore, as is evident a lot of misinformation regarding Letrozole exists; much of this misunderstanding is due to the ever increasing amount of “Bro-Science” that plagues the hearts and minds of many. Go to a couple of message boards and you’ll often find differing views and opinions and while opinions may vary facts should not but on the message boards they often do.

We have taken some of the most common misconceptions off of some of the most popular message boards that deal in the discussion of anabolic steroids and Letrozole and left you with the truth. While you’ll find there will still be much more to learn hopefully here you’ll find a good starting point and erase some of the incorrect information you have in your mind.

Myth: Letrozole will inhibit gains so much it’s not worth taking and you can prevent side-effects equally as well with Nolvadex.
Truth: It is true, too much estrogen suppression will inhibit gains in mass, that is a given and that is why proper doses are needed. However, Nolvadex, while a decent preventer of side-effects is nowhere near as efficient as Letrozole. SERM’s like Nolvadex block the estrogen in the body from binding to the receptors, to a degree. Conversely, aromatase inhibitors like Letrozole actively reduce estrogen and what doesn’t exist cannot bind.

Myth: Letrozole will dry and wither a physique too much leaving it flat and weak looking in appearance.
Truth: There’s no doubt about it, decreased levels of estrogen will aid in drying out a physique and too much suppression could lead to a problem. However, where most get in trouble is in how they design their diet when using such medications. Most fail to understand that diet is truly everything regarding performance enhancement and as most do not understand proper nutrient balancing is often the missing key. With proper fat and carbohydrate ratios as well as proper water intake a stringy look no one desires will not occur, regardless of Letrozole use; it simply doesn’t work that way.

Myth: Letrozole will cure Gynecomastia
Truth: Letrozole is one of the premier medications for staving off Gynecomastia. Further, if symptoms begin to show it has been shown to have the ability to reverse them and correct the problem before it becomes full blown. However, no amount of Letrozole in the world will reverse Gynecomastia that has already set in; once Gynecomastia truly exists the only remedy is to have it surgically removed.
